“Letters to Captivity” is a targeted campaign by the Human Rights Centre ZMINA at Donbas Media Forum in support of 27 Ukrainian journalists whom Russia is illegally holding in places of detention.
The campaign aims to turn a letter of solidarity into a personal connection with each imprisoned journalist and to remind them that their name, work and voice have not been erased from the Ukrainian or global information space.
Forum participants, newsrooms, colleagues, readers and international partners will be able to choose a specific recipient, write a letter or sign a postcard following the relevant security guidelines.
Each letter or postcard is a means of providing moral support to journalists while also sending a signal to the Russian detention system that the fate of every Ukrainian who has been unlawfully deprived of their freedom is being followed and that their release is being demanded.
